Those ‘90s commercials made washing your face seem so easy. Just splash a ton of water on your face and you’re good to go, right? I’d love it if that were the case, but absolutely not.
There’s a reason why your skin looks brighter, fresher, and smoother after a facial, and proper cleansing is a huge part of that. I get asked all the time how to properly wash your face, so I’m spilling a secret or two for you here.
Step 1:
Remove your makeup — always — using micellar water and a clean cotton pad.
Step 2:
Place a dime sized amount of cleanser into your palm and rub together with warm water to create a light lather. Massage your face upward in a circular motion for 30 seconds and rinse thoroughly.
Step 3:
Lightly pat skin dry with a clean (emphasis on clean) towel or cloth and complete the rest of your routine.
Great skincare doesn’t have to be complicated. Keep it simple, keep it consistent, and your skin will thank you.
